Global AeroSports AlumnusFrom Kerala to Singapore — One Student's Aerospace Journey
Three years ago, Rohan was a curious 9th-grade student at his local school in Kerala, always
gazing at the sky but unsure how to turn his passion into reality. That changed when Global
AeroSports brought the Aerospace Ambassador Program to his campus.
Under the mentorship of Dr. MRK Menon and his team of aerospace experts, Rohan didn't just
learn theory; he got his hands dirty. He built his first quadcopter, programmed flight
controllers, and successfully designed and launched a two-stage solid-propellant model
rocket that reached over 500 feet.
"The program was a revelation," Rohan says. "It wasn't just about reading textbooks. We were
solving real engineering problems. When my rocket deployed its parachute perfectly, I knew
exactly what I wanted to do with my life."
His outstanding performance in the program earned him the official Aerospace Ambassador
certification. But the journey didn't stop there. Armed with his portfolio of practical
aerospace projects and a glowing letter of recommendation from our faculty, Rohan applied to
one of the most prestigious engineering programs in Asia.
Today, Rohan is a first-year Aerospace Engineering student at the National University of
Singapore (NUS) on a partial scholarship. He is currently working with a student-led
research team designing nano-satellites, taking the very skills he learned in our high
school program to the frontiers of space technology.
